Srinagar, Sep 03 (KNO): National Conference (NC) leader and Cabinet Minister Javed Ahmed Dar on Thursday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over its protests in Jammu and Kashmir, accusing the party of creating the challenges it was now raising against the government. Speaking to reporters during his visit to Rafiabad, Minister Dar, as reported by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), questioned the BJP’s position, saying the party had been ruling at the Centre for nearly a decade and had also been controlling the affairs of J&K through the Lieutenant Governor’s administration. “I fail to understand how the BJP is facing people with what face. They have been ruling the affairs for a decade, and here too through the LG,” Dar said. He accused the BJP of disempowering Jammu and Kashmir and said the move had made it difficult for the elected government to address issues facing the people. “They disempowered J&K. If not so, things would have been better, and we could resolve the issues as well,” he said. The minister said the National Conference-led government had been making efforts to address the situation over the past couple of years, while accusing the BJP of creating hurdles for the present administration. “It is BJP which is responsible for the same, which is putting challenges to the current local government,” the minister said—(KNO)
